Polar Express Day of FUN!

by Hollie Griffith

on December 16, 2013

Today was Polar Express Day in my first grade classroom!  And… That just means A LOT OF FUN!!! I always have a Polar Express Day and this year I just wanted to do something different. So… instead of making our normal conductor hats we were the CUTEST elves ever!!!

We also had fun writing Santa a letter explaining why we would make great elves!
While reading the story, my students got to sit inside a miniature Polar Express.  The train was definitely the hit of the day!

Of course, when we watched the movie we had to have hot chocolate!!! We also had fun comparing the book and movie!
All Aboard the Adjective Express…. We learned about adjectives and made our own train!
We sorted common and proper nouns…
And… We also unscrambled some sentences!!
If you are interested in any of these activities you can find them all in my Christmas Extravaganza Unit by clicking HERE!
